"My art allows me to work through my thoughts, feelings and epiphanies. I'm pretty loquacious, so it's rare I don't have the right words to express my thoughts, but my art is a huge part of that process. My sketchbook is my journal and it allows me to sit with myself until I find the most accurate words. Then I'm able to convert that into the symbolism that's laced within my drawings. I feel like that way the art allows me to be extremely vulnerable while maintaining some sense of anonymity when it's ultimately shared. My art is a distillation of my emotions imbedded in cartoons."

Sterling Kai is personality and antics incarnate and it shines through his animations. From big facials and exaggerated poses to subtle, almost unnoticed asides, his characters exude personality and charm. At a young age he was given opportunity and privilege to act in a plethora of film, television and print projects. Those experiences not only sparked his eternal love of the arts at the age of 4 but they also gave him first hand lessons with understanding how to build characters, scenes and compositions. It's influenced how he views life unequivocally; from the way he see hues, to how he interpret conversations and cadence, and especially how he sits a bit longer to notice the minute details in life, which all allow him to be a bit better at imitating life in the future. Both on stage or on the page.
